badgervsbaboon Ruffy delivers once again. Stand out tracks for me being Blue Sky Thinking & Episode 5-6 simply because these are the ones that I'll be able to use the most when playing out. But as with these kinda packages repeated listens open the door to new dimensions and further opportunities and once the nightclubs open their doors again theres a couple of belting tracks on this that should set the right floors alight.

Since lockdown started I've been livestreaming from a makeshift studio in the cellar of my house. Every saturday I've been making tunes live on twitch and I'm at the point where there are enough of them to put out a release. In keeping with the livestreaming spirit of the whole project I'm sharing the entire process with an unsuspecting audience - right down to typing these very words right now.

The Ambient 'Blue Sky Thinking' was written specifically for a DJ set I did on Chris Coco's "The Chill Out Tent" livestream, and its name was suggested by the NTS chatroom when I played it on my show... for all the internet-geekery surrounding its inception, it's a wonderfully organic piece built upon some field recordings I made in Ibiza a few years ago. Let the waves wash over u...

"Episode 3-4" is the most straightforward dancefloor track; if you check the video of the show you will note that I specifically used a keytar on this one for maximum disco ball vibrations

"Episode 5-6" takes us to a strange balearic/piano house realm - this one didn't really come together until the final mix/arrange session - worth checking out if you want to see how sometimes a frustrating demo can be transformed after being left alone for a while.

Finally "Episode 12" was made using my own Rhythm Section sample pack (also available on bandcamp) as part of a live broadcast I did to promote the launch of the pack. I strongly advise u to steer clear of that broadcast though because the sound is totally screwed up all the way. Much better u enjoy this lo-fi bouncer right here instead!

Of course if you like the music you can go to the Ruf Kutz TV twitch site and watch each track being made from scratch all the way through to the final arrangement and mixdown, accompanied by my ultra foul mouth.
